Dear Ray, I remember waiting at the top of Branksome Hill Road in the freezing cold and pouring rain, with you, Paul and Robert waiting for Uncle Bob to pick us up and take us to Stamford Bridge. You turned to me and said, "this seems like an awful lot of effort to watch 11 men kicking a ball around on the grass in the name of entertainment". You always had a wonderful sense of humour, and of course, it was no effort to go see our beloved Blues, however frustrating they could be. I'll cherish the memories of all those trips up the M3, pre and post-match drinks, trips around Europe and the food, laughter and beer shared! You were more than just one of my dad's mates, you were one of my mates and also great football Coach with knowledge of the game. Thank you for giving me a chance to play in your Sandhurst team, I really did enjoy it. I will raise a glass to you today and again with your family and friends in person as soon as we get the chance. Carefree, Gareth
